hey everyone have been looking around , seen few people experiencing simular issues. seems got caught in perfect storm. specs: macbook pro 15'' 2011 2.0 core i7 4gb ram 256mb vram 500gb hd reason recovery partisan isn't there. if boot using command + r nothing happens. it’s not selectable if boot holding options either. ive tried run on safe mode, internet recovery, single user mode , tried boot os mounted on flash drive nothing seems work. i'm out of ideas on how repair or format disk. cant find disc came mac either doubt that me. tried boot in verbose mode see mac struggling can’t see working on before screen goes white. i've tried reset pram/nvram , smc game over?   which os? if original 10.6, there no recovery partition. hdd sata cable or graphics dgpu problem (a known problem 2011 mbps).   F...

on 2015 13" rmbp high sierra has been miserable. few things: won't upgrade supplemental upgrade, desktop icons including hard drive gone , nothing have tried brings them back, app store says updates available after downloading nothing happens , app store says no updates available, recents vs files, every time machine boots different startup items may, or may not started. that's starters. have never had trouble new os , has been since osx first came out. mileage may differ. so, doing internet restore , start @ el cap , go no further sierra. ps exact same things happening 2011 mac mini on high sierra.   at least yours still boots, high sierra bricked entire 2012 imac... guess high when made one. miracle got install in recovery mode , system hanging time, copy/pasting is.... okay, i'll give that, fast hell meat , potatoes update teh s uck. it's gonna last os update ...

i have macbook pro 8,2 that's 2011. created usb install of macos high sierra; i've done several mac operating systems no issues. upgraded memory 16 gig no issues. replaced hard drive 1 tb samsung evo 850 ssd. formatted ssd no issues. when tried install macos high sierra, received installation error. when tried install macos high sierra second time, received same error message. put original spinning disk in macbook pro. @ time of post, don't remember error stated; know doesn't help. apologies. has seen issues installing macos high sierra on solid state drive? suggestions helpful. thank you!   i tried installing october 5, 2017 release of macos high sierra on 1 tb samsung evo 850 ssd. received same error message initial attempts september 2017 release. time captured error message. message stated, "this copy of install macos high sierra application damaged, ,...

apfs not supported on fusion drives upon high sierra's release. cuz, well, it's borked on fusion drives. https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/apfsfusion beta versions of macos high sierra made change in disk format of systems converting them use new apple file system. initial release of macos high sierra provide support new apple file system default boot filesystem on mac systems all-flash built-in storage. if installed beta version of macos high sierra, fusion drive in mac may have been converted apple file system. because configuration not supported in initial release of macos high sierra, recommend follow steps below revert previous disk format. works fine on 2017 macbook. i'll upgrading 2017 imac 1 tb ssd high sierra apfs too. note though wording leaves open apfs come fusion drives @ later date, there's still hope yet fusion types. also, don't know if happens though if try install high sierra on imac fusion drive has bee...

currently using sierra along windows. there many things find lacking in sierra thoroughly mind boggling. list them no support hdmi 2.0 no 4k @ 60hz on hdmi no support dts-hdma or dolby-atmos lossless tracks playback. no support dts-hdma or dolby-atmos bitstreaming home theater receiver denon no h265 support inbuilt. hi, have 15" mbp 2013, i7 2.7, 16gb ram, 512gb ssd) , planning upgrade. i'm choosing between 13" , 15". first decided 15" because logically had 15" , satisfied, after visiting apr , trying(browsing web, typing, watching 4k video ) both models , fell in love 13", decent design layout of keyboard , speakers, there not many unnecessarily empty places. although had 15 " full of potential in bigger display used in consultation , presentation @ school. @ home still plugged in 24" external monitor same @ work. working on mac adobe creative cloud : ps, ai, id, sketch , exceptionally cut short jingles in finalcut, ms office, internet, email etc. question ist if choose 13" i5, 8gb ram, 512gb enough power software? saving money invest in better monitor @ home?. im dont care ports, 2 enough me. same portability, both seems ok. 15" feel have enough performance in future, want use model next 5 years more. adivice...
