Disabling Spotlight in Sierra?


a friend told me if privacy matters me should disable mac's spotlight app.

have read few places spotlight supposedly sends info hardd-rive apple?

first of all, true?

secondly, how disable spotlight doesn't give out of info?

finally, disabling spotlight break mac or apps on it?
 

if want disable spotlight: sysprefs-spotlight; privacy tab. "+" , select entire drive.

depending on how use spotlight on mac, may or may not break workflow. shouldn't break apps.

added protection, buy bbq-class tinfoil. kidding - can't careful ...
