tvOS 11 audio/surround output options?


can has tried betas of tvos 11 on atv 4 if audio/surround outputs have changed relative tvos 10?

options on 10 are:

  1. best quality available: stereo passed out pcm stereo, dolby digital 5.1 passed out dolby digital 5.1 bitstream external decoding, dolby digital plus 7.1 itunes movies decoded on atv , passed out 7.1 pcm.
  2. dolby digital 5.1: dd 5.1 dolby digital 5.1 passed out dolby digital 5.1 bitstream external decoding, dolby digital plus 7.1 downcoverted dd 5.1 , passed out external decoding.
  3. stereo: downconverter pcm stereo , passed out

trying idea if tvos 11 supports dd+ 7.1 being passed out bitstream external decoding per amazon's fire tv , fire stick.

if not, i'm hoping forthcoming 4k apple tv might support dd+ 7.1 bitstream output, or possibly supporting atmos bitstream.
 

also anxiously awaiting news of audio codec support in tvos11 , atv4/5. have hd audio passthrough (dolby , dts) plus atmos can ditch using media pc plex media player , use 1 box.

clarify above when best quality selected there no passthrough of dd bitstream. it's decoded, mixed system sounds , passed on pcm dd+ is. dolby digital selected isn't straight passthrough either. atv decodes bitstream, mixes system sounds , re-encodes dd bitstream. there has been written many feel why atv looses dynamics relative original bitstream. off sound handling. rather have high end avr handle decoding , know signal getting.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
