macOS and Apple's stubbornness in adopting new standards


currently using sierra along windows.

there many things find lacking in sierra thoroughly mind boggling. list them

  • no support hdmi 2.0
  • no 4k @ 60hz on hdmi
  • no support dts-hdma or dolby-atmos lossless tracks playback.
  • no support dts-hdma or dolby-atmos bitstreaming home theater receiver denon
  • no h265 support inbuilt. (you need paid app)
  • no support other open codecs ogg, vp9 (again paid app apps limited)
basically, find macos sierra limited in multimedia/htpc capabilities. connecting imacs or hackintoshes new 4k hdmi tvs 4k @ 60 hz not possible. may have resort dp 1.2 hdmi 2.0 active adapters things done , unreliably.

apple needs act , include future technologies hdmi 2.1, dp 1.3, dp 1.4, newer codecs. can't believe no 1 calling out apple on or happy way things are? releasing new imacs enable these features incredibly shading thing do.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
