i trying fix 2008 imac. trying white screen folder question mark bouncing. replaced hard drive , put again. trying boot usb drive yosemite on it. hey guys bit of fun thread round out week. clearing out storage, , in 1 of our iphone 3gs original boxes saw top lifted off. opened box find display clear off phone , smell of battery acid in bigger storage container, has been away light , in cool dry environment. decided take apart, document it, , share little bit of fun. tl;dr phone dead. enjoy! ​ --- here's offending phone. note screen off depth of iphone 3gs --- time ifixit action! --- uh-oh... ok battery pushed screen has separated. adhesive age combined being stretched , exposed air means whole display unit broken (though maybe still functional?) --- you can see flex of logic board. each time took screw out heard loud 'pop' , battery expand further pushing out more pressure being held lessens. --- the culprit. wow it's pop... i'm little scared might break removed it, stayed together. couple glamour shots admire! --- here...

how route apple tv audio home stereo 3.5mm or red/white rca inputs? i'm planning buy apple tv 4k primary entertainment device, travel (digital nomads). i'm getting 4k model in case stay anywhere 4k tv. we're in australia , have 10 year old optoma 720p projector , use large sony hifi sound, perform surprisingly well. 2011 macbook pro sends video via hdmi dvi cable optoma (which has dvi-in, not hdmi-in) , audio sent on long 3.5mm red/white cable. however, new apple tvs don't appear have 3.5mm audio output? moreover, it's not projector can take audio , send on, (unlike hdmi), dvi doesn't carry sound. ideas? screen-sharing keep sound coming macbook pro, concern whether video going macbook->apple tv->projector induce delay , therefore video lag behind audio? still wouldn't allow me play apple tv audio natively though?   alexjholland sa...
