Column of keys on Apple Keyboard suddenly stops working


hi,
have wired apple keyboard attached on mac sometime ago. functioning fine. suddenly, column of keys f2, 2, w, s , x stopped working.

tried keyboard on macbook air, same results. tried on windows laptop , again same result.

there no spillage on keyboard or sort of physical damage. stopped working out of blue.

when try go change keyboard type in preferences, gives me error keyboard cannot identified (upon pressing z key instructed).

followed few guides online , disabled mouse keys in accessibility , did other tinkering locally on mac, no avail.

appreciated.
