What if...iphone 8 and 8 plus were fullscreen without OLED?


i bit puzzled apple's strategy iphone 8 / x. there 2 reasons.

first reason stepping new form factor new ui while offering same old form-factor old ui. kind of half-hearted launch unlike apple of yore. wouldn't strange had apple launched original iphone alongside blackberry type device different version of ios? we've seen same touchbar on new macbook pro's, doesn't bode well.

second reason i'm puzzled oled screen seems have serious manufacturing restraints, hard them meet demand, leading lost sales.

so, here's question: why didnt apple launch iphone 8 / 8+ same fullscreen design, using regular led screens? essential phone bezelless notch yet it's regular led panel. there still room iphone 8x oled @ top-end, demand less hard serve when majority can new form factor in cheaper model.

entirely new larger screen form factor allow higher price-point without feeling they're gauging you.

iphone 8 5.0" led $750
iphone 8+ 5.8" led $900
iphone 8x 5.8" oled $1000 --> current x

1 puzzled regular 8 / 8+ versions?
 

the majority of users don’t know screen led or oled, can’t primary selling point between 8 , x range.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
