and having 1st gen ipp 12.9, think i'm 1 of can't go without larger screen size of 12.9.
had thought difference in size between 9.7 , 10.5 ipp noticeable , 10.5 middle ground between 9.7 , 12.9. think 10.5 still in small side me.
have been used 12.9 screen. love using video viewing, surfing web, , mult-tasking nice 2 same size of 9.7 ipad screen.
10.5 not considerably lighter 12.9. time 12.9 feels heavier if hold in landscape mode time. when im on toilet, don't use 12.9 in orientation when viewing content. hold portrait orientation , weight doesn't bother me. orientation still enough screen people say. it's equivalent of having regular ipad in landscape mode screen right below.
apple pencil performance on 10.5 nice me, not head , shoulders above performance on 1st gen 12.9.
in closing, think i'll keeping 12.9 or may newer 12.9. bet promotion screen , true nice @ screen size.
else feel way after trying out 10.5?
, in same boat here. have loved first gen ipp 12.9" , specs of 10.5" got attention. found great open box deal @ best buy jumped on , have been trying few days. size being little smaller when need walk around while using it, that's not often. also, faster pencil , promotion there said, not earth shattering differences. if coming older ipad 3 o air yeah see bigger difference. apple pencil works great on both , taking notes , normal tasks latency non issue. of these things have benchmark or soooo tuned in paying attention them apparent. in normal work, composing documents in word, taking notes in notes or onenote, typing browsing internet, working mail.... same honestly. maybe weeeee bit of snappiness here there 10.5" hard tell times.
now, major impact getting used being downsized smaller screen. split view suffers , ios 11 bringing more table multitasking larger screen seems logical choice make of it.
i'm still on fence though. them both different reasons. have 12.9" accessories , using make-do case 10.5" until decide on there since apple not making rear cover these. more expense added compromised, smaller experience keep thinking. tough decision go show both fantastic devices, decision lies in suits individual best.
