2008 white MacBook 2.4 GHz C2D: Is it a waste of time to try to install Yosemite on it?

i have installed high sierra on 2009 13" 2.26 ghz macbook pro, , nice. feels supported machine. no issues, , performance acceptable, 8 gb ram , ssd.

have 2008 white macbook 13" 2.4 ghz macbook, 4 gb ram , ssd, it's annoying since it's stuck on 10.7 lion. example, browsers old versions, can cause compatibility issues, , means security updates problem. however, seem brief investigations getting yosemite (or mavericks) on 2008 white macbook near easy or slick high sierra 2009 mbp, judging forum threads i've skimmed through.

waste of time try yosemite (or mavericks) on 2008 white macbook? don't want lose functionality or have glitchy results. don't want have super choppy animations.

didn't mention el capitan, seem el capitan more problematic.
