Advice on Parallels


i use nvivo windows on mac (they have mac version has less functionality) i'm considering getting parallels. couple of questions:

1. i'm on macbook air 2014, 8gb ram, 256gb storage. how should devote windows section of drive? app want run @ moment nvivo.

2. thoughts on windows version go for?

i'm not sure first question. not sure. regarding os, can tell win 10 uses more battery 8.1.
