"the national rifle association, in first statement on las vegas shooting , in rare break traditional opposition gun-related regulations, called thursday federal review of so-called bump stocks , suggested new rules might needed device apparently used shooter in sunday’s massacre.
“the nra believes devices designed allow semi-automatic rifles function fully-automatic rifles should subject additional regulations,” nra said in written statement."
the bbc story points executive branch review rather legislation , want right conceal carry in 1 state enable person conceal carry in other states (a bad idea imo, particularity respect how police approach public). @ lest nra aren't opposing every last piece of regulation in usual knee-jerk way (which right of course). welcome nra's (admittedly small) compromise - perhaps tone of debate change , can have dialogue gun regulation rather entrenched extremes.
