hey all,
got old imac - mid 2011 27" i7, 8gb, 256 apple ssd (model 12,2) - customer got new mid 2017 27" imac. wanted me erase personal data said whatever it.
anyway, booted recovery mode, ran disk utility , deleted partition, "erased" new mac journaled partition , did fresh install of el capitan (what on when got it.) , finally, went app store , updated sierra. good. runs quite age , seems snappy.
1 issue, however.
since sierra upgrade: every time boots error after login drive needs initialized. checking disk utility, @ top of left-side list, drive called st_m13fqbl media; 4.14 gb uninitialized. grins, tried initialize it... no go. i've run first aid , healthy.
below weird drive expected apple ssd ts256c media 251 gb sata internal physical disk
below partition created in recovery disk utility before install called mac_256-ssd
found 1 reference in forums 2014 related 320 gb rotational drive few responders believed strange drive showing indicated failing seagate drive. however, ran first aide on drives , partitions , seems good. also, system reinstalled , updated no issues. im not getting freezes or other data corruption. nor did customer before this. replaced machine because could, not because there issues. (he did want , ordered larger ssd, wasn't due existing hardware issue.)
so... i'm stumped.
ideas?
in advance.
post picture of disk utility shows?
