Limit New posts on year old (or more) threads


it incredibly annoying when newbie replies old thread no longer relevant.

limit activity, suggest following:
  • only member 200 posts or more allowed make new post on old thread (1 year+) and/or
  • issue warning asking confirmation post in old thread information on how many years old recent post is.
context: this post @goshindoman
 

but topics timeless, , can fresh if raised every year or so.

moreover, newbies - not know way around, , cannot expected without support , sort of guidance older hands - directed - quite brusquely - not make new threads use existing threads - not know exist, , apologetically use when directed towards such thread - make point many have been raised time earlier.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
