Start up disk getting full without reason


hello,

using macbook pro mid 2014 el capitan 10.11.6.

lately i've been getting start disk full messages often. don't keep account of disk space using feel should have lot more space. feel shouldn't close using 500gb of space. feels strange.

keep clearing space fills fast, space can't account for.

today, 5 hours ago, reaceived message getting full. cleared 5gb of space. saved 60mb worth of files , nothing else received message disk getting full , using @ disk utility have 500mb of space left.

using dropbox , google drive, looking @ activities, there has not been activities or files downloaded computer.

have guess going on? or have advice me?

thinking reformatting drive , reinstalling everything.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
