Creating a Fusion drive on a late 2012 Mac Mini

i thought no-brainer, i'm finding conflicting information when research. have 2 late 2012 mac minis want upgrade fusion drives. first wife's i5 stock 500gb hdd. bought owc upgrade kit 120gb ssd, , have 1tb hdd i'm going use replace 500gb drive. it's 1 of minis boot drive in upper bay. bought necessary add-on kit , have owc instructions configuration. have electrical engineering degree , have worked technician, i'm fine physical part of installation. i'll migrating data mac mini, have bootable clone hdd.

confusion need create fusion drive. i've found instructions 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, , 2017. reference mountain lion, giving terminal commands create fusion drive, saying later versions of os x should let disk utility. (why 2017 post talk mountain lion?) read couple threads saying if bought mac mini 2014, came special version of os x disk utility lets create fusion drive, "regular" versions of os x don't let this. found thread saying terminal method doesn't work in sierra. found other threads saying nonsense.

can please tell me need software standpoint? have new ssd , hdd i'll install in wife's i5 mac mini, , want create fusion drive. i'll migrate data afterward other mac mini (an i7 quad-core).

want similar i7 mac mini. has stock 1tb hdd. want create fusion drive 1tb ssd , 2tb ssd. boot drive in lower bay in computer. difference want create boot camp partition windows 10. have 2015 13" mbp, , i'll either migrate data or fresh install of everything, idea 3tb mac mini "base station," , mbp mobile computer. i'm starting business, , figured it's idea have 2 computers in case happens 1 of them.

anyway, please point me in right direction, , let me know of caveats need aware of. thanks!

with 2012 mac mini won't need terminal create fusion drive. because computer natively supports fusion drive, you'll able create disk utility. remember lose data on existing disk, sure have backup know works.
