High Sierra Install Bricked My 4,1 That I had Flashed to 5,1


my 2009 mac pro running 10.12 months without issues, bricked after trying install 10.13 (i know, stupid update).

downloaded high sierra , first thing did in installation updated flash.

update went ok , rebooted fine.

started 40 minute installation , when returned, front panel led on, fans turning, have no power on usb ports (keyboard / mouse) , nothing on display. cycling power on gives me noise optical drives nothing else.

have suggestions or i'm sol :(.
 

similar situation here. firmware updated, rebooted os upgrade, came hour later find going through kernel panic/reboot cycle. tried reinstalling via recovery , same thing. restoring time machine backup drive, scary , bit nauseating.

can firmware downgraded?
