TimeMachine after OS upgrade


i have upgraded mavericks sierra. before upgrade turned off timemachine.

can turn on or should start on erasing drive , letting timemachine start fresh?
 

if, time machine backup - way have of going working system should decide sierra not want.
i'd suggest keep around awhile, @ least until sure want go sierra.
if chance you've decided sierra want, go ahead erase hdd , start fresh tm backup, keeping in mind burnt bridge.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
