Macbook 12 for a person w/ new 15" Touch bar, iPad Pro 10, and a 2013 13" MB Pro


i have burning desire 12". don't know why. on upgrade path.


got macbook pro 15" touchbar, 16gb ram, 1tb ssd.

got 10.5" ipad pro daily driver.

i'm upgrading stuff - docks, hubs,etc



looking backup , on stationary machine.

have 2013 i5 13" macbook pro, w/ 1280x800. serves plex server , machine vpn in. connected 27" dell 1440p screen in workshop.

upgraded 16gb ram, 500gb ssd in main drive , swapped out cd-rom w/ 1tb hdd 7200 rpm drive stuff.it connected several tb1 raids including drobo. docked in thunderbolt , there.

runs home security recording software in vm.


if need use more stuff. un-dock , connect new 15" using

tb3-tb2 dongle. have access , additional 4k lg.

when i'm finish, un-dock , plug 13 family activity.


since 13" old, thinking upgrading. i've never use household stationary duty. can undock , stick in in garage has ports - ethernet, thunderbolt, , firewire.


or should intel nuc w/ thunderbolt 3 , try hackintosh it.


12" m3/m5 cpu comparable 2013 i5. 13" can't power more 1 displayport monitor , can't drive 4k have. can ditch thunderbolt dock , use usb-c dock works 12" , 15"

or maybe better off air have thunderbolt 2 , supports 4k.


or stick have.
 

to me doesn't make sense if u use plex , security cams stationary.
if u don't have slowdowns 13" why u think it's old , has replaced these few basic tasks?

sold ipad after getting mb cos didn't use anymore...

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
