Apple Working With LG Display on Future Foldable iPhone

apple developing iphone foldable display alongside lg display, reports korean site the investor. apple said have chosen work lg , not samsung out of fears samsung ahold of sensitive tech.

not first time we've heard rumors of future iphone foldable display. in december of 2016, rumors suggested lg's display division begin mass-producing foldable displays smartphones 2018, apple said one possible partner.

lg has shown off several foldable display prototypes on last 2 years, including 1 folds on book , second rolls newspaper. lg's foldable displays use flexible oled panels , lg has been working increase durability , yield rate.

lg said have created dedicated task force start developing foldable oled display future iphone, while siser company lg innotek has team developing rigid flexible printed circuit board or (rfpcb) go along it.

folding display technology ways off launch, , unnamed industry sources believe panel production iphone folding display won't kick off until 2020, more 2 years now.

samsung supplies oled displays iphone x , expected supply oled panels apple's 2018 iphones, lg started oled production phones @ factory in china , has plans begin supplying apple panels 2019.

How much is my cMP worth?
