App Design conundrum


i've started app project, secure data storage application, , have app locking encrypted data files mac device on created.
have started question design principle.
although makes data files more secure, files not opened on mac system, person created them in first place.

although i'm not going go details app , does, or how works, obvious reasons, i'm interested in views of other coders , developers, wether think system locking mechanism idea or not.

3 short simple app design questions are.

locking secure data files particular mac system, idea or bad idea?

want have option lock data files 1 mac system?

, option unlock them system well, movable backed files?

appreciate views on 3 questions above , please keep answers breif , relevant questions only, opposed questions app itself.

perhaps i'm missing something. don't see benefit of locking files particular cpu. where's redundancy? happens if have cpu/disk/motherboard failure

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
