Other HEIC vs JPG Photo Type


i started noticing taking photo heic (for 8, 8+'ers) vs jpg resulted in near identical photos in daylight. however, once got inside house @ night, there noticeable difference in quality between 2 photo types. .heic grainy, out of focus, , blurry while .jpg sharper.

noticed indoor shots .heic 1mb while .jpg 2.9mb - big size difference , noticeable quality difference on phone's screen (blowing image 100%). on computer much worse (heic being grainy, blurry, having loss of detail).

instead of me posting results , getting bashed not being pro (i not pro), figured i'd cite others have better am.

seeing this. jpg files 2x bigger on average, more (some jpgs 12+mb) while .heic 1mb - 6mb.

i've switched jpg because there huge difference (imo) in quality. , having 256gb iphone, size isn't big worry.

doing? have noticed this?
 

i've noticed since 7 series, quality on whole has decreased - resulting in grainy photos / watercolor looking shots big disappointment

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
