man tempted buy new upcoming iphone x. wanted solely new cellular iwatch tbh.
waffled on less impressive specs new iphones (8 series), realizing apple software/hardware , app balance. wasn't willing wait possible next spring if demand x going constrained researched poop out of 8+ see if willing settle lack of customization , stale design (my opinion).
tipped me on note 8 picked weekend (in bullet form):
1) in canada @ least, bell , telus have improved network speeds aprx 750mbps (striving gigabit lte). @ least in major cities @ time.
2) apple deals both qualcomm , intel modem chipset. intel chips not have capacity gb lte. closest can reach 600 mbps. (already 150 mbps less existing carrier upgrade). iphones have qualcomm chips have ability work , achieve gb lte speeds if carrier can manage it.
3) apple has crippled features on qualcomm chip match of intel chip (currently lawsuit going on regarding this). when release phones next year (intel has gb lte chip in works not ready release @ time). new phone, should have bought one, unable achieve carrier max speed should exceed 600 mbps!
4) apple not activate these chips because uproar between carriers carry qualcomm chips vs intel chips insane!
5) after researching chipsets sold on 8 , 8 plus in canada bell , telus carriers (basically cdma not supported 1 of requirements on chipset make gb lte work), specific antenna types) not qualcomm chips.
6) s8, s8+, , note 8 support gb lte out of gate.
myself not justify spending money on phone crippled, watch may or may not have connectivity issues (hardware or software yet undetermined), feel risk design of current ipx merely beta product apple, couldn't it...
know people don't care reaching max download speeds device long fast enough them, , no biggie, me, buying obsolete tech insane price! ($1778.00 in canada 256.
being said, loving phone beast , customization addict!
garmin vivoactive 3 looks amazing , while not elegant , bells , whistles iwatch, think serve fitness needs!

firstly, note 4 snappy , quick has been. literally had no valid reason upgrade other "i want".
secondly, have had s3, s4, note 4 , note 8 , not once have ever said myself ... wow feels slow, laggy , crappy.
however, have @ least 3 friends forced have buy new ipad, , iphone because update ios on devices, bricked or practically rendered useless device 3 years old or less. ironically, unable roll device make work.
have mom, right tells me has buy new ipad because slow, laggy, cuts out or there not software support more (the apps). have advised not update os past 3 years of use on apple product, updates hard on pre-existing software.
