Messy printing from websites


now , come across websites printed result nothing see on screen (i "print pdf" if come interesting web page).
one such example page in safari overlapping text , in firefox first page (also overlapping text), blank page nothing more.

i've heard can add own printer stylesheets browsers never found guide on how set (at least not explained in laymen's terms instead of programmer!).
can explain me how done (or other options make printed websites readable)?

ps: know various "save entire page pdf" makes graphic screendump, won't let click on links or search through text.
