does know size of 4k movie itunes vs size of blu-ray 4k?
thanks.
there's no set answer beyond "considerably smaller." every movie vs. movie have different answer, comparison of streaming vs. disc version or 1 streaming movie vs. streaming movie.
bd version going considerably larger because contains added detail comes less compression. disc doesn't have worry squeezing through constrained pipes of consumer's slow(er) broadband connections. bd author can use of available space on disc movie.
on other hand, streaming file author trying target arbitrary tradeoff of quality vs. file size maximize playback capability relatively slow broadband connections. how this? 1 way squeeze compression more disc (which throws out detail). way trade higher quality audio lower quality. etc. 1 can same kind of thing ripping disc , putting squeeze on compression, throwing out various audio options, etc turn large file smaller file (albeit sacrificing visual & audio quality).
blanket guess @ generic answer question, i'm going guess target make streaming version 2/3rds or more smaller same movie on disc. maybe people have discs can compare itunes versions , start offering specific numbers. expect such comparisons on place because- compressed or not- different movies have different outcomes same compression variables applied. example, if guess right, means expect streaming versions weigh in @ maybe 15%-20% of disc version while others might toward 40%-50%, averaging out 1/3rd on many movies. again- guess.
