2015 MBP or 2017?


hi all,

going medical school , want computer last me until, , after graduation. don't large trackpad of 2017 15inch, , neither fact have purchase adapters , usb-c hub continue scientific pursuits, brand-new 750,000$ machines use not thunderbolt 3 native.. manufacturers recommend using nothing native ports, worry adapter use. also, our department says our machines optimized apple, no windows. 2015, had before, , wonderful computer, not 2012 mbp, still amazing. i'm sucker ports. way, down real question...

read several articles here, , on different forums mentioning effective lifespan of mbp, , it's apparently clocked @ around 5 years, , apple considers 3, apparently. so, question is, if buy 2015 mbp new b&h last 3 years..? last less time 2017? i'm concerned this, when graduate medical school, debt free studying stops, , have pay every paycheck resident loans... residents make less nurses, , last 4 years. means 8 years of life needed computer, not heavy use. word documents, , data crunching in lab. tv shows @ home, , in summer, super8 , 16mm movie film processing. nothing longer 2.5 hour videos.

i'm asking if 2015 have longer effective life, 2017.

any machine buy last 4 or 5 years. apple provides extended warranties out 3 years in us. expect why people saying lifespan 3 years. on warranty + 1 day machine not die.

not surprised machine connect not directly support tb3. high speed interfacing handled level of front end dedicated system , data feed external computers in lower speed on usb or heaven forbid rs-232. curious know type of machines working with. background in biopharma robots , large scale data processing , analysis. , of these systems still run windows xp (yes xp) controllers.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
