please advice on home video storage , viewing (with apple tv).
wife , burning home video's (30 mins, sony hd cam, final cut pro x) blu ray's. our blu ray player broken , blu ray burning gets more , more complicated, looking alternatives. love , have many apple products, no apple tv yet.
possible store our home video's (2 per year each 10-15 gb, 30 mins) in icloud , view them apple tv? looking (i)cloud solution here, future proof, without need nas or streaming our macbooks. using homevideo's this?
thanx,
danielle & leon
buy big fat hard drive dirt cheap + unretire or buy old windows or mac computer capable of running itunes (if check around, give 1 stashed in drawer somewhere if don't have one). store of present & future movies on hard drive , let computer "server" mbs free turned off or go mobile.
trusting cloud- icloud- trusting strangers take care of media. in case, it's private- precious- home movies. why hope strangers caretakers when know care own property more will? if anything, use cloud secondary backup. if house burns down , own internal "cloud" burns it, you'll able recover home moves secondary storage. however, there, buy second big fat hard drive , regularly sync 1 @ home it. store second 1 somewhere else (family, friend, bank safe deposit box). have 100% control of home media , primary backup.
there private channel options on vimeo , youtube. basically, can upload videos there , not visible general public- & wife. that's storing them in robust "clouds." play them other youtube or vimeo video.
others chime in suggesting other apps, 1+ of can seek. if mentally committed doing way, watch else chime in solution.
