Google iOS App Update Brings 'Smart Answers' and 'Trending Searches'

google added couple of new features flagship ios app on friday, 1 of shows searches trending in user's geographical location before begin typing search field.

following yesterday's update, whenever user taps on search box start search, dropdown menu shows "trending searches" indicated blue jagged arrow icon next them, contrasting them gray icons mark out user's search history. in our testing, trending searches didn't show in locations, it's possible google still rolling out support on servers.

trending searches appeared last year on android, change prompted number of user complaints led google make feature optional. fortunately, ios users can find same opt-out toggle on settings screen tapping account profile in upper left of search interface.

apart that, google says search box has gotten smarter, in users can answer they're looking before they've finished typing in question, possible answers appearing in suggestions below. example, typing in "how fast chee" displays cheetah's land speed (110-120 km/h, interested).

feature additions come on of google's recent introduction of personalized news feed app, offering stream of content based on user search history , topics choose follow. feed replaced google now, company's predictive search feature displays traffic updates, weather, , other information, of has been moved new tab called updates.

it bothers me prompting query iphone "ok google" returns far more successful results "hey siri" ever does.

don't know if that's down apple's privacy concerns (and google's lack of them) or basic managerial incompetence. federighi @ siri helm things change pretty swiftly.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
