Carpool Karaoke Producers: Apple's New Show is a 'Celebration of the Joy of Music'

ahead of tomorrow's launch of "carpool karaoke: series" on apple music, producers ben winston , eric pankowski sat down interview billboard share additional details on creation karaoke-based celebrity show mark apple's second original series.

"carpool karaoke: series" based on carpool karaoke segment of "the late late show james corden." according winston, idea spun out series came after late late show segment became popular. @ it's core, "it's people having conversation," said winston. "if find right people, thought great show."

apple's streaming music service chosen platform new show because of reach. "as producer , responsible entertaining people... there 1.2 billion ios devices in world. means our show available 1.2 billion people whenever want it. it's incredible, it's inspiring , humbling," said pankowski.

because james corden busy own show, he'll host 2 of episodes - premiere smith , finale lebron james. other episodes hosted range of different celebrity partners, concept came after decided replacement james corden wouldn't work.

"rather trying find replace him, have 14-15 people," said winston. result, apple's new series has become "more of environment can happen show james can host." according pankowski, show "a celebration of joy of music."
