hello
purchase macbook pro 13" before want ask guys opinion about:
1. touch bar need it? use laptop internet watching movies? benefit can see 4 type-c exits.
2. upgrading ram? need it? not using type of programs not working laptop.
3. upgrading ssd? 256gb enough? if have thunder bolt 8tb drive connected it.
4. last question will need type-c hub 4k 60hz exit watch hdr content recommendations please.
thank answers.
- no, not need it. tb model have benefit of being quieter , having more powerful cpu/gpu, though, , convenience of touchid. additionally, tb model, able use 4k/60hz display + thunderbolt1/2 hard drive (with adapter) + other usb 3.1 (3.0) devices without needing expensive thunderbolt hub (with ntb, need either thunderbolt dock or other usb 3.1 (3.0) devices run @ slower usb 2.0 specification.)
- it dependent on workload , preferences. if money not huge concern, imo worth it. if not need 16gb , money concern, if dead-set on keeping computer long period of time (rather upgrading should needs change), 16 gb me makes sense. if not using system in fashion requiring 16 gb, not plan in short term, , fine selling system + purchasing new 1 should needs change, 8gb seems fine me.
- very situational-dependent , personal preference. 256 gb enough imo when ok using external storage and/or cloud storage.
- you need thunderbolt dock if want connect 4k/60hz display hub , usb 3.1-1 (3.0) devices hub , have devices run @ usb 3.1 speeds (otherwise other usb devices run @ 2.0 speeds, , other port occupied thunderbolt hard drive, need adapter if thunderbolt 1/2). many of these tb3 hubs supply power well, 1 cable mbp provide power, video, , data, in convenient single-cable solution. example caldigit ts3. (if not care having single cable solution must have usb 3 transfer speeds when connected 4k display (and needs 60 hz , not 30 hz, there no significant cost difference between cost of touchbar model , ntb + tb3 dock.)
