White Macbook Backlight Issue


i purchased macbook , seller claimed "backlight dead" after getting tuned on, backlight flashed half second after chime , turned off. macbook works , boots mavericks. if put phones flashlight screen can see on display, if hold f1 , turn brightness way down, press f2 , turn backlight either flash on quickly, or stay on 1-10 minutes. when turns off can repeat until backlight stays on.

kind of issue might be?

don't have mini-dvi adaptor connect monitor.
