Sorting in Photos


i have added number of photos photos app on imac, automatically via icloud iphone, , transferred via sd card camera.

cannot find way make them appear in correct chronological order.

have done before after previous trips away , seemed happen automatically.

photos appear in order "added" iphone first , the camera ones.

have found "sort" option in view menu, when click on see 1 greyed out option "keep sorted oldest date added". cannot see anywhere how can change "sort date picture taken"

suggestions gratefully received.

incidentally tried moving them new album see if sort them there, result same.
 

rename photos,use 3 or 4 digit number code,and have them in different albums,for example "holiday album,pic 001,002" , on.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
