Online Backup Software for Business


i’m looking online backup software small business use. i’m setting backup multiple company computers using os x , windows. backblaze personal use. unfortunately, not appear offer admin control want.


administrative control:

- worker computers must connect clients. want them see backup data if check online username , password. no 1 else’s in company. admin should see backups.

- no individual encryption. while want data encrypted in transit , in account. don’t want worker able set passphrase can lock administrator out of backup. in case lose password, quit or fired , don’t want give passphrase. administrator still needs able access backup.


other requirements

- reliable: many backup programs i’ve used have been less reliable. either not files backed or backup stops functioning. don’t find out unless check when client has me out unrelated work.

- compatibility: mac os x , windows must.

- version history: retains multiple revisions of files @ least 6 months or storage limit reached.

- restore: online download or hard drive data shipped.

- no limitation on filetypes or ability edit this. noticed carbonite blocks lot of filetypes including .exe.

- works database files. ie quickbooks, outlook, access

- user folders: backs user folders without having login each individual user , enabling.


nice have

- online access files ios , android

- either unlimited backup per computer or @ least 2tb unlimited number of computers
 

check out crashplan. announced shift in focus , dropping subscriptions personal accounts in favor of focusing on corporate/business accounts.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
