My iPhone 8 Logic


not sure if there thread out there on already, wonder if out there agrees me or if totally crazy....

pre-ordered 256gb iphone 8 morning (unnecessarily @ 3 est).

have 128gb 6s on iup, unfortunately had purchase month before iphone 7 launched, still had year worth of payments left. me, upgrade worthwhile better internals, wireless charging, fast charging capability, , increased storage same monthly payment.

design of x (minus notch) , wrestled decision couple of days whether go 8 or wait of x, , came with:

1) price - while sharp, cannot justify additional $200 dollars phone same internally. yes screen , camera upgrades, fine lcd , single lens.
2) face id - i can't buy this. maybe crazy, ability unlock phone picking more convenient having hold , swipe. also, being new technology apple, there bound bumps in road need corrected on several software updates.
3) timing - the pre-order window delayed more month, severe supply constraints forecasted. going guess, if order phone >2 minutes after pre-orders open, not see phone until december @ earliest. while waiting isn't problem, timing leads me next point.
4) 2018 update - next september releasing updated version of x, touch id built screen (as intended), improved face id, , maybe lower price tag (okay, last 1 bit crazy). considering delayed release year, require iup participants buy out remaining 2-3 months worth of payments eligible upgrade.
5) reliability - while design bit stale same form factor 4 years, 8 perfected little uncertainty , touch id reliable , proven authentication technology. aesthetically, glass nice touch. imo, roll-out of x feels bit rushed , has potential quality issues.

know justification holding onto 8 year until better x comes out next year, curious hear others thoughts.
 

like you, still had 6s, plus in case. biggest issue battery feels has degraded decent amount n ~1.5 years i've had it. also, damn phone scratched both on aluminum sides , screen itself. must have sandy pockets :(. reasoning iphone 8+ same speed x, maybe faster since it's lower resolution, format familiar me , have best battery life. you, think x still unproven , don't want beta tester, not $200+ , having wait 1-3 months.

don't think should feel bad getting iphone 8 or 8 plus. have our reasons buying phones, buy new phone every other week, others wait 4+ years.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
