MP 5,1 slow on FCPX

have 5,1 have suped on few years, following configuration: dual 3.46 ghz 6 core, 48 gb ram, xp941 boot drive several large spinning drives data (photos, video project storage). have macvidcards 7970 attached 30" acd. again of tips , suggestions gleaned these forums! until recently, not have been happier it. used converting bunch of hi8 , digital8 tapes dvds , archive files. compared macmini (maxed out 2.7 ghz 16gb ram, ssd), cut 1-hr export time 24 hrs down little better real time. i'm done project, kids starting sorts of stuff fcpx object tracking, layering, etc. watching of stuff today, , noticed significant stuttering played video. tell me edit, keep change they're working on active avoid stuttering.

many people here, i'm waiting bated breath see apple comes in mmp, i'm wondering if has suggestions improving workflow experience. plan keep 5,1 quite while yet, , don't mind spending bit of money. can tell, though, nvidia cards (even new ones) not improve things @ in fcpx, , seems reviews mixed 580x. thought getting 7970, last looked mvc doesn't sell them anymore. suppose wouldn't need flashed card since current card gives me boot screen.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
