OSX FaceTime Audio calling hangs when entering number to call


i make audio calls through facetime laptop (mba 2013 running 10.12.4).

again , again, app seems hang or freeze / stall when start entering number call. have wait 15-30 seconds come alive. it's quite annoying. wonder if can help?

behaviour persists through restarts etc, , doesn't happen.

edit: happens after entering first digit. want enter 0303 123 7300.

open facetime. fine. press 0 - hang - hang - hang - (any numbers typed appear when hang ends) - 303 123 7300. runs fine after this.

happens if enter alphabetical character not number.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
