i realised time machine doesn't automatically encrypt when have filevault on.
want remedy this, i'm trying enable encryption, in way, on tm disk.
disk in use, , don't want erase , start agin, unless absolutely have to.
preferred option: using inbuilt filevault.
tried this, right clicking wouldn't work. says can on partition, not full disk. there anyway round this?
potential option: using veracrypt.
use encrypting other system disks. can use time machine? or fact of needing enter passwords @ various time make impractical? or using 2 encryption systems not somehow?
i'm @ loss searching on subject, i'm turning trusty macrumours answers.
its in apple's docs
https://support.apple.com/kb/ph18852?locale=en_us
think i did once (remove/add encrypted again) , tm has preserved old backups. however, don't shoot me if turns out memory has failed me.
