eBay's New Image Search Feature is Now Live Within iOS App

following announcement earlier in summer, ebay week launched "image search" feature in ios application. image search uses computer vision technology powered ai let search popular auctioning site snapping picture -- or uploading 1 camera roll -- , receive similar results based on image recognition abilities.

live in ebay ios app, can tap camera icon in search bar @ top of home screen, choose "image search," take picture or upload 1 photos. you'll have grant ebay access both ios camera , photos apps feature work properly.

after take picture or choose one, can crop focuses on item want search, , tap "search." ebay show listings items "close match" or "visually similar" product in picture. image search takes account of ebay's on 1 billion listings, according company.
ebay launched "find on ebay" android smartphones only, lets users start image search on social platform, facebook. using share extension on image, android users can tap ebay , retailer's app open show similar listings.

we've performed few quick image searches today , found solid results items (an apple watch , band), although other products stumped software got error (nintendo amiibo, apple watch dock). ebay still hasn't said if products more reliable others, did mention image search gain intelligence customers use more, typical machine learning technology.
