macOS Sierra on MacBook 5,1 (Late 2008)

hi guys

after bit of help! i've got 4gb ram, 500gb hdd (soon upgraded 8gb ram , ~500gb ssd) macbook 5,1 2.0ghz, model a1278 late 2008. these upgrades taking place when have spare cash, ram upgrade coming first , ssd in new year.

want upgrade sierra using sierra patch tool - i'm wondering if else on these forums has same laptop , has upgraded sierra? did you/do encounter troubles being unstable or things stopping working etc, or laptop , specs g2g?? :)


appreciate quick replies i'm looking patch upgrade on sunday afternoon!!

with ssd , 8 gb ram, maybe should upgrade high sierra not sierra, assuming there no reported glitches on hs. runs fine on macbookpro5,5. yes it’s slow slow on el capitan. don’t notice difference between el capitan , high sierra os navigation speed, @ least ssd plus 8 gb.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
