iMac photo editing workstation advice


my imac needs retired after around 9 years of problem free service. issues stuck on el capitan , underpowered editing raw files 5d4.

i'm thinking about: -

a) 27‑inch imac retina 5k display, 4.2 ghz processor , 512 gb ssd. plus maxed out 3rd party ram.

b) drobo 5d3 (http://www.drobo.com/storage-products/5d3/) couple of 5tb hds store 1tb of photos , 1tb of music , allow growth.

c) thunderbolt 3 enclosure 10tb hdd time machine backup

d) online backup service backblaze

i'm looking set-up requires minimal "care , feeding", not need replaced long time.

suggestions alternatives? missing obvious?

i'm not getting debate on if technically option, run off:

mac pro 2008 8x3.0ghz
32gb ram
970gtx upgraded graphics card
2x 128gb scratch style disks (one os / apps, 1 tether location)
2x 1tb internal libs (and other externals various on site / off site backup)
imac 2010 27" primary monitor
2x 24inch samsungs secondary

absolutely fast enough raw files, don't know care free, i've never had issues apart replacing g/c.

cost huge amount less 5k maxed out imac ;). run 4/5k display 27" normal imac , have grand or left over.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
