iClever Flash Disk review

the flask disk iclever dual usb 3.0 64gb flash drive supporting both usb type , lightning connections.
in box find flash drive along user guide , warranty card.
drive small , light, measuring 60 x 16.4 x 8.2 mm , weighing 21g. manufactured zinc alloy , feels solid indeed - find no play @ in of drive or connectors. sports rotating cap covers 1 end @ time seems limit usefulness need decide of 2 connectors prefer protected.

acts normal flash drive when plugged computer , comes formatted exfat. use on ios device lightning port, first need install booststorage app available app store. app installed, when plug in drive, app automatically start , prompt allow access drive. tapping accept takes app both ios , drive storage space options navigate. app supports same file formats ios if drive has mp4 video files can play them directly in app. there few categories supported in app such photos, videos, music etc. have option of sharing file app preferred app of choice. example, selected movie file on drive , chose option share brings ios share sheet , choose open movie nplayer copies movie app starts playing. booststorage app acts conduit process , buffers content during copy recommended tap settings icon in app periodically , tap clear cache option.

booststorage app provides backup options such backing whole device, contacts or photos drive. have option of selecting photos or selection. great way of keeping backup of photos when out , or way offload when ios device getting full free space. more details of app can found on app store.

flash drive not support common protocol in same way wifi enabled flash drives unfortunately cannot connect third party apps directly storage, have use booststorage app access drive. means need use app middle man when want share content third party apps @ least drive quick in operation. wifi drives using likes of smb sharing transfer around 3-4mb/s drive serving content ios device around 20mb/s. writing drive ios device such backing photos slowed down around 15mb/s may have been due high number of smaller files instead of single larger file. these tests performed on iphone 6s. new ipad pros usb 3.0 support may provide faster transfer speeds didn't chance test out due ios 11 beta issue.
timing drive on usb 3.0 mac saw write speed of 25-30mb/s , read speed close 60mb/s. not on par wth faster usb 3.0 flash drives out there faster usb 2.0 , respectable such practical drive dual connectors.

drive , software easy use , offer fast , convenient way of transferring data on ios device when on go. it's handy holidays means carry movies or music can loaded required or backing holiday snaps. issue have encountered drive not recognised under ios 11 beta temporary issue developers have said ios 11 supported.
