MacBook Pro Refresh Might be Sooner Than We Think - Kaby Lake R

dell, today, announced xps 13 refresh quad core intel kaby lake processors. starting price $1,400 , up. brands such dell adopting 8th gen cpu's quickly, wouldn't surprising apple follow suit. might see new macbook pro's late october, november accompany high sierra. it's possible might in addition existing 7th generation processors.

apple instance push 7th generation kaby lake down entry level model 13 , 15 inch add kb-r mid range high end models.

today, macrumors linked article former apple employee in mentioned updated laptops fall.

current laptop line forces users pay touch bar on higher end devices whether want or not, , that’s cost users shouldn’t need pay niche technology without future. apple needs either roll touch bar out entire line , convince want it, or roll , offer more laptop options without it. i’m going curious they if/when announce updated laptops fall.

so, thoughts, plausible or apple skip or wait out until spring 2018? also, how affect purchasing plans going 2018?

the 1 thing holding apple refreshing 13" dual cores lack of 28w cpu. 15w kabylake parts available. 28w part should come out higher base clock speeds. 15w base clock speed low, boost 4 ghz.

hope apple upgrade 13" units new cpus possible. these days apple seems little risk adverse, may wait until summer/fall 2018 , upgrade 13" 15" using 45w 6-core cpus.

xps 13 have had new cpus while, , new black microsoft surfacebook should out , ...

far upgrading, need/want 15" hex core, wait until update 15" 45w processors. , timing fit in 2 year upgrade cycle of machines , let me sell current system 1 year left on applecare,
