ipod Touch 6 and bluetooth/wifi speakers


right have decent quality portable bt speaker sits on kitchen table. it's handy playing music or audio when watch video on ipad. got iphone want devote ipod touch 6 music since can live in kitchen. here's problem need with. i'm planning gut remodel of kitchen , thought i'd buy stereo bluetooth/wifi speakers music playback. want hang them they'll in location , won't need shelf space.

should looking speakers work directly ipod, need power, or need receiver operate them, i'll need speaker wire? i'm not sure begin , love suggestions speakers consider. top-of-the-line waste because kitchen entirely hard surfaces.
 

i think thinking of amplifier , not receiver. receiver has built in amplifier, unless need multiple inputs receiver gives fine amplifier.

don't think ipod able power speakers directly (at least not well), larger headphones need amplifier. bluetooth speakers (and type of wireless speaker plus come dock) have built in amplifier.

if fine staying apple products, airplay speaker (wifi based) better doesn't compress signal. bluetooth has compress audio , distorts sound. whether can hear difference or care different matter. both wireless systems work, choice.

if have existing sound system, there both bluetooth , airplay adapters make existing system wireless.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
