2017 MacBook 4K HEVC and General Computing Questions


i'm considering buying 2017 macbook. year's option allows me buy 16gb of ram. know last year's model used skylake processor , 4k hevc decoding capability isn't kaby lake processors. core i5 y series processor in macbook capable kaby lake processor on 13" macbook pro when comes decoding 4k 10-bit hevc videos? apple's webpage shows macbook have hd 615 graphics compared macbook pro's hd 640/650 graphics.

need ultraportable laptop email, general web browsing, imessage, , occasional photo editing adobe lightroom. 2017 macbook capable of doing ease? fast enough?
 

the actual decode done in hardware since regular cpu still utilized stuff windows server there still cpu usage.

kaby lake core m3 complex 4k hdr 10-bit hevc there 25% cpu usage, less macbook pro. same video kaby lake imac i5 use less 10% cpu.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
