MacBook or MacBook Pro

hey everyone,

posted while ago in macbook forums same question have more info now.

i'm starting college next year , need new laptop that. have 2011 macbook air (128gb, 4gb ram i5) it's running on last legs. cycle count @ +1000...

note travel 4 or 5 days bus , train @ least 1hour 20min.

next year school recommends (minimum):
  • i3 or better
  • 4gb ram
  • screen resolution 1280 x 800 or better
  • battery 5 hours (ideally 7 hours)
i need able run this:
  • windows 7, 8.1 or 10 (may in dual boot or virtual) through bootcamp.
  • being able read , write in office 2016 (is provided school)
  • being able install flash 10 or higher (probably best using through chrome?)
  • being able use photoshop, illustrator & indesign cc
i know don't want new macbook air screen isn't good. went further 2 options in eyes.
  • macbook 12" standard version: m3, 256gb ssd, 8gb ram = 1409€ (with edu discount)
question; powerful enough?
note: don't mind 1 usb-c port.
  • macbook pro 13": i5, 256gb ssd (upgrade), 8gb ram = 1644€ (with edu discount)
question: overpowered needs?
note: bulkier , heavier.

help!

i'm sure both work fine, balance cost out cpu upgrade.
while rmb lighter, neither brick either.

if planning on using vm go 16gb.
