YouTube Testing Autoplaying Videos in Mobile App Home Screen

google reportedly testing new feature youtube app in featured videos on home screen start play without user's permission.

according androidcentral, users seeing first video featured in home section automatically play open youtube app, subtitles replacing muted audio.

video starts beginning , plays way through if user allows it, while scrolling further down home section causes subsequent videos autoplay appear on screen.

while default behavior intended give users preview of contents of featured videos, experimental feature seen distraction, bad news mobile data limits, or drain on battery life.

fortunately, looks autoplay feature can turned off in account -> settings -> general, new "play browse" toggle has been added. toggling feature brings additional option allow autoplay when connected wifi, should go way assuage concerns feature eating data allowances.

it's not clear if or when autoplay feature rolled out mobile users, we'll keep eye out in future updates official youtube ios app.

all these app behaviors running in background using our data. got no problem long others can turn on , off. default should off user has choice prompted warning of possible data overage. problem apple still put restrictions on downloads despite unlimited plan.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
