Takes FOREVER To Boot From External APFS SSD


hey formatted external usb 3.0 ssd running high sierra apfs , gosh take forever boot now.
im not talking few minutes, takes literally twice long boot.
has else experienced this? not usb 3 thats causing worked fine on previous format.
ideas?

i'm seeing reports of slow startups on apple discussions. booting external usb drive slower booting internal drive. have considered replacing internal hdd ssd external?

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
