for wondering hardware can what, posted project build times macbook, 13" & 15" mbps, , retina imac @ some benchmark results. ios project, not sure why posted in mac forum :)

short answer: quad best, newer helps. ram, meh.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
