iPod Classic no longer powering on with car ignition


recently (in last 6 months), ipod classic video (30gb) has stopped powering when start car.

leave ipod plugged in via usb , has been working fine, turning on , playing tunes car stereo. 6 months ago stopped happening. instead, have lean on glovebox , press home button turn on in order start playing.



have tried different ipod cable - same result.

unit still charges, still powers on, still works. turns on straight away after pressing home button.

changed battery in case. still no luck.



i'm not sure happened 6 months ago cause change. ideas?

there hasn't been firmware changes i'm @ loss has caused it, , how fix it.

just guess, in experience cheap usb chargers can cause issues.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
