Wireless networking speeds?


i'd able wirelessly transfer large folders of photos/videos mbp imac quickly. i'm transferring 4.23gb folder , taking 30 minutes. pay 100mbps cable internet , using airport extreme ac.

1. determines networking speeds?
2. there can improve speeds?
3. distance extreme macs make difference when transferring between macs?

ok, multiple factors impact speed:

  1. the speed of internet paying has nothing if transferring files directly 1 computer another.
  2. if using drop box or icloud internet speed may impact downloads , uploads.
  3. the speed of wireless router affect how fast files transfer.
  4. the speed of processors in each machine impact speed.
  5. the speed of hard drives impact speed.
  6. the amount of ram (where files put temporarily saved hard drive) impact speed.
what do:

  1. connect computers directly each other via cable
  2. put 1 in target disk mode (so can see it's hard drive) , copy files 1 computer another.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
