Cannot load my photos into iMovie


hello,

running el capitan.
have imovie 10.1.6

have been making movie slideshows photos , videos once or twice year kids' birthdays.
got new computer after last slideshow movie.

still working aperture (i know, time move on...) , using iphoto library within aperture.
can see iphoto library listing on left side of imovie screen. now, isn't there. try connect photo library , nothing. libraries greyed out.

see under imovie should open, iphoto, aperture, , photos libraries...
isn't see black images, don't see library or have way connect photo library.

help!!!

suppose update sierra. , shows on latest imovie (for el capitan @ least)
 

there may file permission issue.

when last time computer restarted? may want try , repair disk via disk utility.

1 work around export photos want out of aperture folder. imovie should able import them folder.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
